We All Wanna Be Big Big Stars, Yeah

Finally, the interview and photos I did a month ago are on the front page of today's Chicago Tribune. When I knocked the snow off my paper this morning, I see the big headline, "CHEAPSKATE." Then, there's a picture of me. Never did I dream of such glamour. But I won't whine about the picture, or the fact that they called me a "housewife," because I am too busy watching my visitor count for Shoplifting With Permission soar. Yay!

They had a segment on frugal shopping on GMA recently, and we thought of you. These women were charging money to teach people basics, like using coupons on top of other coupons, but only when items were on sale. I say "basics", but truthfully, I don't always take the time to find the best deal I can. I'm trying more these days compared to before the economy got really bad.

I don't see much "consumer shame" around here yet. And as far as shopping at Wal-mart, I won't do it. I refuse to support them, but I understand why more people are shopping there. I do want to save money, but would rather save $ in other ways.

Good article - congrats! Maybe you should teach those coupon parties - you could make quite a few $ that way.

Hi there, great article. Although I didn't see pics, only a video about some condo foreclosures. I write about similar topics on one of my blogs
