That Obama Fellow Is Stealing My Thunder

So, a couple of mildly exciting things happened to my blog career recently. One was that I was interviewed and photographed by a major publication for a story about bargain shopping. Another is that I was asked to give a workshop on the same topic.

In both cases, that Obama is totally stealing my thunder. Every time I pick up said major publication, I eagerly page through looking for my photo and name and URL. Instead, what do I see? Obama this, Obama that. Yes, yes, he made history, but did he ever get $300 worth of groceries for $60? I very much doubt it. I doubt he even knows what a Catalina deal is.

Now, after spending the evening preparing in earnest for my big workshop tomorrow, I check the inauguration schedule. My program runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The inauguration ceremony begins 10:30, Obama swears in at 11 and then gives his much-anticipated inaugural address.

Sigh. I'm so sure I'll have the full attention of those who signed up for my workshop. If they even show up. If I get anyone, I'll offer to wrap it up by 11 so we can all rush to the TV.

OK, there's one other blog related thing that I can't say Obama has stolen my thunder on. It looks like I'm going to be included in this book, and that's nice.

Man, if we lived a bit closer, I'd gladly skip work to attend the workshop. I could use some tips on how to curtail the grocery spending...

How did your workshop go? All that Obama stuff can be seen on YouTube, but your workshop...
