Wherein I Tease My Child Like a Dog

Since my parents brought us a truckload of ripe tomatoes last week, I snapped up a bunch of on-sale bacon and we had ourselves some BLTs. Pebbles, aka the child who might get to sit forward in her car seat by the time she turns 2, discovered a deep, enduring love for bacon. I didn't realize how enduring until I went to microwave the left-over bacon yesterday. As soon as the aroma started to flower, she hit the kitchen, exclaiming, "Bacon! Bacon! Bacon!" the way most babies ask for a baba. I didn't catch that part of her carrying-on, so I tried to get her to reinact that for this video.

As you can see, I didn't get her to say "bacon" 100 times as she had before, but the result is still hilarious. And if you're tempted to report me to PETA, please remember: This is a child. Not a dog. So it's fine.

Was that a Bacon Happy Dance or just the Reverse Bacon Effect?

H and I were busting up watching this. She is so adorable! Like Bert, we also wondered what was up with backing away from her beloved bacon. :-P

Yeah, isn't that funny? She does like to walk backwards sometimes. But I guess she figured she would take off with her mouthful of bacon before I could take it away from her or something She's gotten into that oh-so-possessive stage.
