We're Going to a Cubs Game!

We had pretty much resigned ourselves that we weren't going to see a game this year. The tickets have been selling for high over face value, there's only one home series left, and we know we won't be able to afford playoff tickets.

Then, Hurricane Ike cancelled the Cubs' games in Houston this weekend. Two of the games were rescheduled for Miller Park in Milwaukee.

Since our block party was cancelled due to the rain, we ended up coming to Milwaukee for another party this weekend. We're in Milwaukee now!

As soon as we heard about the games on the news last night, I jumped on the computer and ordered up a few tickets. We have never seen Miller Park, and now we have grabbed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Miller Park without having to sit through a Brewers game!

Sorry, Brew Crew fans.

By the way, Epu is a relatively new Cub fan. I've finally sucked him in with three consecutive summers of having WGN radio on for every single game.

So when the Cubs started losing on Sept. 1, Epu was surprised.

"Gosh, the September Swoon started early," I remarked.

He looked at me blankly.

"You mean, this ALWAYS happens? They even have a NAME for it?"

He has much to learn, my little Jedi.

Okay, I know nothing about baseball and am not a fan, but I have to drop a name here. My husband and I are friends with Len Kasper. Len used to be in a band when he was living in Wisconsin and my husband recorded the band's CD's. We were at his wedding and I even sang back-up on one of Len's songs.

My only connection to the Cubs, and baseball period. ;)

Anyway, enjoy the game!
