Tired of the Suspense? So Was David Blaine, But You Didn't Hear Him Complaining

Actually, last night a neighbor told me they had walked by David Blaine in Central Park last week when he was supposed to be suspended (get it? suspense?) upside down for 48 hours. But when they walked by, Blaine was taking a break. In fact, he appeared to be taking a piss, with a tarp around his waist for privacy.

Some magic trick, eh? Like, we can totally see that tarp there, Blaine. We don't think your dingle dongle is invisible, or anything.

What? You didn't come here to chat about David Blaine? Did you hear Paul Newman died? Did you know the Brewers are still tied with the Mets for the play-offs and I'm actually rooting for the Cubs to lose today so we don't have to face the Mets in the play-offs?

OK, OK. I tested yesterday and it was negative. But I'm not sad. For one thing, I don't put that much credence in super-early tests, but for another, we're not stressed, we can wait. For one thing, although I burned right through most of my pre-pregnancy to-do list (visited dentist, dyed hair, stocked up on free nutritious snack foods), I didn't get any of the painting projects on my list done, so another few weeks to work on those would be just fine.

That painting might have to wait. When I saw you at the Parenthesis Sale, I was picking up major pregnancy vibes.

That's funny. Do you have a good track record for predicting these things? It might have had something to do with the fact that I'd been on my feet since 8:30 a.m. for the second day straight of volunteering there.

But I picked up a couple pairs of maternity jeans during the bag sale just in case.

My first test was negative...but the second one wasn't! Ya never know...

Abby -- it was the same for me with Nutmeg.

Both times I had viable pregnancies (including now; I'm almost 13 weeks, knock on wood) I felt pregnant before I even took the test.

Also if you have Dollar Tree stores in the Chicago area you can buy cheap tests there with a really low HCG detection limit (probably comparable to what you get online). For only a dollar! Who pays full price for pregnancy tests nowadays? They are a total rip-off.

Here's hoping it's your month! Damn that 2WW!
