Ice Princess

Epu took Nutmeg ice skating last night. She enjoyed it and didn't even cry. Even more impressive, Epu didn't cry after circling the rink 5 times while doubled over supporting her by the armpits. This is what they report. I was enjoying an evening of climbing with Jack at the time.

You know what blows my mind? They rent skates there that are too small for my 21-month-old kid, who wears a size 6. The toddlers who are there renting those size 5 skates? They are so going to edge her off the Olympic team someday. Oh, the time we have squandered!

If they go next Wednesday I'll go along and get a picture.

Figure skating may be a lost cause now, but you can still get her ready in time to win the gold in luge. So, no worries!

But if you have your heart set on skating, if you move to Chicago, I'd be happy to take her out on the ice and whip her through Alpha through Freestyle One skills. That way, she can start classes in Freestyle Two, earn all her blessed jacket patches, and be in the running again.

If she goes for skeleton or luge, don't let her use any hair enhancement products.

OK, maybe I'm just jealous y'all motivated to do physical activity beyond 'look honey, the park and playground'

Heh. Usually we consider ourselves ambitious when we get our butts down to the park.
